"Harmony 'n Strings"Sandra Stallard:- Sandra's love of singing started early in her childhood listening to her older sisters playing and singing around the piano, and participating in School and Church Choirs. She sang in the Ipswich Choral Society for some time but pressures of a young family puit singing on the backburner. A love of Line Dancing brought her into the Country Music Scene where she was reintroduced to singing. Andy Stallard:- Andy learned to play a banjo and mandolin as a child riding his push bike into Ipswich to the old Palais Royal Building with other instruments tied with rope around his back. Building his own business left little time for music until his retirement. With his wife being involved in Country Music this reintroduced him to his mandolin and banjo to play in Country music. Dell and Bev joined Andy forming a group playing harmony mandolins along with Bev's husband Don on guitar. Dell Klupfel:- Dell learned mandolin as a child riding her horse along with her sisters to her music lessons. She played throught her school years at various gatherings. She continued into her teen years where her intrests changed. On retiring through Countery Music she picked up her mandolin again and started to play. Bev Pryde:- Bev had no musical background other than singing at concerts with a Youth Group. Her love of Gospel music led on to her enjoyment of Country Music. Bev joined her husband Don playing banjo at Nursing Homes and Senior Concerts. She later learned to play a mandolin and joined the mandolin group. Don Pryde:- Don started playing drums at 17 years going on to play drums in an orchestra. He also spent 6 years as drummer in the 2/14 Light Horse Band and many years playing in dance bands. In 1990 Don began singing Country Music after learning to play the guitar and then went on to write his own songs. Don also played drums at Lake Cooroibah Country Music Weekends providing backing for many professional entertainers. |
