You were a teacher
Like none I've ever known

You were my best pal
My first real friend
You remained that to me

To all others I would compare
You placed the stars in my eyes...
My husband keeps them there.

Waking in the morning
I couldn't hardly wait
To start a new adventure
Never wanted to be late.
Tiny little feet
Running after you
Holding your hand
All the day thru.
Riding on the tractor
In the bright hot sun
Plowing in the fields
What a day of fun.
Playing in the barnyard
with a piglet or two
Didn't matter what we did
As long as I was with you.
Growing up with you
Was my heart's delight
Wish you were still here
To hug me 'goodnight'.
