Uh oh ... BUSTED!

This is a very important notice, so please read this first. It concerns my material as well as other people's material.

Fidget & The Great Mouse Detective

The Palace of Pearlwings pertains to the character Fidget from Disney's The Great Mouse Detective (GMD for short). For those of you who not familiar with the movie, GMD is based on The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and the Basil of Baker Street series by Eve Titus. It takes place in late 19th century London and starts when a girl's father is kidnapped on a foggy day that's supposed to be her "best birthday." Lost and alone, she searches for the famous detective, Basil of Baker Street, in hopes that he would help her to find her father. Believing that her search was a hopeless failure, she is found sitting on a box of matches inside a human boot, crying, by a retired veteran surgeon named Dr. David Q. Dawson. Fortunately for her, the good doctor happens to know where Baker Street is located; therefore, he accompanies Olivia Flaversham (the girl) to Basil's flat. Once the two mice meet the famous detective himself, they learn that the kidnapper happens to be Fidget, the peg-legged employee of the notorious Professor Ratigan. I would like to tell you more, but I don't want to spoil it for you ladies and gents. ;) You have to rent the movie if you want to know more. ;) You can also refer to The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and the Basil of Baker Street series for a better insight.

As mentioned in the previous paragraph, Fidget is the peg-legged, batty sidekick to Professor Ratigan. In the GMD movie, he is a secondary/minor character, who only has two major lines and a lot of minor ones. He is present up until "The Chase Scene" where Ratigan throws him off the dirigible (where the character is then presumed dead). In my realm however, he is the main character and the main subject of this site. My site contains information on Fidget such as conceptual sketches, screen shots, resources, The Fidget Connections (my own pastiched cast w/ character bios), the voice actor Candy Candido, and anything GMD related.

The Fidget Connections & Copyright Issues

The character Fidget and all things pertaining to GMD are copyright 1986 to the Walt Disney Studios. However, all other characters presented here (characters not present in the movie) are copyright 2002-2011 to Reyelene (myself) unless stated otherwise.

The Fidget Connections my own pastiche cast of bat, mice, and rat characters (either related or connected to Fidget) and takes place after Fidget is exiled. These characters are based on historical & contemporary figures, celebrities (mainly veteran), pre-existing Film/TV characters, and literature/fictional characters. Each character is provided with references, as well as a profile, biography, and voice files of the aforementioned actors/actresses. To listen to these voice files, you can either click on the profile icon (it represents an old and worn book w/ photo and mini-bio of the character) or click where it says "Hear my voice!" These characters may be used for Desktop themes, printed out, and pretty much anything for personal and private uses. These characters are NOT, under any circumstances, to be distributed for any commercial or public purposes without my consent. At the same time, I would appreciate giving credit to Reyelene. If credit is not given, then it is considered plagiarism (see next paragraph on the definition of plagiarism).

Plagiarism is simply defined as taking someone else's material (without permission) and claiming it as your own. I nearly ran into a problem with one of my characters being stolen. Although the problem was fixed right away, I want to make it clear that I DO NOT and WILL NOT tolerate plagiarism! As I stated before, these characters are NOT to be used for any commercial or public use without my permission. I've put a lot of hard work into this site and I don't wish to see my work used for the wrong reasons! I have given appropriate credit to other fans' works and resources I've used; I expect everyone else to DO THE SAME.

I also want to point out that each character contains pictures/photos of their character model(s) are from sources I have as well as other people's (appropriate credit is stated at the bottom of the page). In this case, you don't have to give credit to me for the pictures/photos since they're not my copyright, but I would still prefer that you ask me first before using them as a form of courtesy.

The Song Archive

The Song Archive is a collection of songs from the GMD movie, plus many of my favorite pre-existing songs (some are popular, others are rare). Note that NONE of the songs are my own nor are they songfics written by other GMD fans. These are pre-existing songs, copyrighted to those who originally wrote them. Some of which will be used in some of my future pastiches/fanfics. Each song is provided with lyrics, unless they are instrumental or repetitious. None of these songs are to be abused in any way, shape, or form. Once again, NONE of these are my own nor are they songfics by other GMD fans.

Disclaimer

This site is rated for mature audiences. By mature, I am referring to the complexity of the characters as written in their biographies and the style of the pastiches. The setting is the Victorian Age, which was a very dark time in the history of London where only the rich and the privileged had money and power, while the poor working class were struggling, starving, and left to fend for themselves. And like other purists, I like to keep-in-character. For those of you who have young children and are concerned about what they see and read, I highly suggest you read/skim the material first before allowing your child to see it. I am NOT responsible for anyone's child seeing something that a parent would deem as inappropriate. At the same time, if you believe that some material might be offensive to you, then simply stop reading. I DO NOT want to hear that someone got offended.

Fan Arts, Fan Fictions, & Pastiches

Most of the fan arts, pastiche artworks, and fan-fictions are done by me, but there have been a few people who submitted their works to my site (to view them, go to The Fanart Gallery and The Fidget Library). Each fan art and fan fiction contains the title, artists/authors name, a brief description, and a rating system (mainly the fan-fictions). Most of the works are within G to PG-13 range, with a few exceptional R's/M's rated works. For those of you who have young children, be sure check the ratings on the pastiches/fanfics yourself to confirm if the material is appropriate. Again, the same rules apply. You may print these fanarts/pastiches/fanfics out for personal and private uses, DO NOT use them (whether it be my own or someone else's) for commercial or public uses without the proper permission. If you would like to submit a fan art, pastiche, or a fan fiction to my site, just post on my guestbook and I will give you instructions on how the work will be submitted. In the next header, "Questions?/Comments?", I will explain more.

Questions/Comments?

In the past, I used to update this site A LOT! Now the only updates I do are what was left unfinished, like character biographies that haven't been posted yet, part III of the Fidget tutorial, The Fidget Descendants, and old written pastiches that need to be finished. After that's all done, I intend to leave this site forever as a memory of how I was the first GMD fan to create a site dedicated to Fidget, my favorite Disney villain. But if you would like to offer comments and suggestions, feel free to sign my guest book. I have a whole new guestbook now since my Webring account doesn't have a guestbook of its own like Geocities did. You may also use the guestbook to let me know if you want to submit any pastiches on the site. I used to say emailing me was the best way, until recently when I learned from my boyfriend that SOMEBODY was using my email account to send spam! And with the security of online usage being threatened, I've decided to take my email off the site. So once you post on the guestbook that you want to submit something, please include a link to your pastiche/fanart/fanfic so I'll know where to find it. And if you have any questions or comments, please let me know. I would be more than happy to clarify anything.
