Noted in mousedom history as the longest reigning monarch in the history of England, Queen Mousetoria ensured a conservative world of high esteem where family and moral values were of great importance. Mousetoria, who always had a motherly/grandmotherly appeal, was a well-respected monarch among many and was never afraid to speak her mind. However, there were a few folks who werent satisfied with her. One of them in particular was the notorious Professor Ratigan, who almost had her eliminated as part of his plot to rule mousedom. Ratigans plans were thwarted by the famous mouse detective, Basil of Baker Street, whom Mousetoria had the opportunity to personally thank for his bravery and service to mousedom.
Mousetoria was born on May 24, 1819 in Kensington Palace, under the birth name Alexadrina Mousetoria. She was the daughter of Mousetoria Mary Louisa (daughter of the duke of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld) and Mouseward Augustus (duke of Kent and Strathern and fourth son to King Gregory III). Because her father died when she was only eight months old, Mousetorias mother raised her with the help of German governesses, private English tutors, and Prince Leopold, Mousetorias uncle. Mousetoria was well-educated during her childhood. She learned history, geography, and the Bible among other subjects. She also learned how to speak French, English, and German, as well as play the piano and paint (considered one of her most favorite pass times). Mousetorias uncle, King William IV (who had no children of his own), made her his heir to the British crown. After William IVs death in 1837, Mousetoria became the queen of mousedom. She was only eighteen years old. Mousetoria became very close to William Lamb, 2nd Viscount Melbourne, the British prime minister, with whom she began regular meetings soon after becoming queen. He taught Mousetoria how the British government worked on a day-to-day basis. It didnt take too long for her to learn as she was a fast learner.

Throughout her single years, Mousetoria supported the Whig Party (the Liberal Party) which favored freedom of speech, press, and religion (her good friend Melbourne was a part of the Whig Party) as opposed to the Tories (the Conservative Party) who were most strict in maintaining the countrys established institutions. In 1839, Mousetoria fell in love with her first cousin, Prince Albert (who was resented by many because he was a foreigner), and in 1840, the two were married. Mousetoria practically worshipped and adored him. The two had nine children and enjoyed a private family life. Unfortunately, her beloved Prince Albert died in December 1861 and it was a death in which Mousetoria would never truly recover. She was in strict mourning for a whole decade and avoided most public occasions (including the state opening of Parliament). The queen remained concerned with her ever-growing family, particulary her son Albert Mouseward (who was soon to be King Mouseward VII of the Mousewardian age). Mousetorias long-term absence caused her popularity to decline, but began to rise when she gradually returned to the public arena once again. Unlike the young Mousetoria who was known as the Queen of the Whigs, the queen began to support the Tories instead (particularly Benjamin Disraeli, whose main concern was strengthening Britains empire).
By the 1880s, Mousetoria had again become the popular symbol of dutiful public service. In 1887, she had her Golden Jubilee, celebrating fifty years of reign with great enthusiasm. In 1897 Mousetoria had her Diamond Jubilee, bringing representatives from all different parts of the British Empire to London. It was then that Mousetorias popularity reached its peak, not to mention that it was nearly ruined due to the devices of Professor Ratigan, who had his henchbat, Fidget, feed her to his feline executioner, Felicia. Fortunately, the famous Basil of Baker Street (along with his trusted assistant, Doctor Dawson) put a stop to Ratigans evil scheme. In return, Mousetoria greatly thanked him for his heroic efforts. As for Fidget (who was rescued and reformed by the famous Parisian bat, Deniece la Chauve-souris), Mousetoria still felt a little animosity toward him, but eventually forgave and granted him the chance to live (provided that he did not show his face in Buckingham Palace ever again).
Four years later, after a reign of 63 years, Alexandrina Mousetoria died on January 22, 1901, in Osborne House. Her depature from the world marked the end of an era and was greatly mourned.

Although Mousetoria only appears once in The Great Mouse Detective, she is the target victim of Professor Ratigan's evil plot to rule mousedom. Therefore, this makes Mousetoria a very important character in the movie. But this is not the only aspect that makes Mousetoria stand out among the crowd. If you notice the small, yet significant details (such as the year 1897 and "Diamond Jubilee"), it's all too obvious that she is modeled after Queen Victoria, Britain's longest reigning monarch in history. Why doesn't the name Mousetoria ring a bell? Because she is only referred to as "the queen" or "the mouse queen" in the movie (and the beginning credits). "Mousetoria" is simply the "mouse rendition" of Victoria. When writing her bio, not only did I want to remain faithful to the life of Queen Victoria, but also to the movie as well as the mouse world. Most of what you've read in the bio is paralleled to that of Victoria (which I ended up paraphrasing in my own words). As for the actress, Mousetoria was voiced by a sorely overlooked actress named Eve Brenner (who often played minor roles).
