Fiona Fitzpatrick

Fiona O'Reilly-Fitzpatrick is the second child of Seamus and Marian O'Reilly. Generally speaking, Fiona is a mild-mannered and hospitable woman, but has a tendency to be impatient and serious, particularly while keeping house, cooking the meals, or any form of work. Fionas a hard-working woman and firmly believes that work should come first before play. When she is not hard at work, she likes to sit comfortably in her chair and knit blankets, or work on her needle-point. Fiona also likes to hear her fathers stories and violin-playing. She and her husband, Alastair, often dance to the sound of Seamus's music.

Growing up in a family of six, Fiona led a typical, yet productive childhood. Although she is technically a middle child, like her younger brother, Michael, she was somewhat treated with older sibling responsibilities like that of her eldest brother, Fenris. Fiona didnt share the love of adventure that her older brother did. She preferred the simplicities of home and enjoyed working on needlepoint projects with her mother, Mariam. Still, she and Fenris were fairly close. Fiona and Fenris were good working partners when it came to getting household chores done and they often engaged in conversations after bedtime (which was not always to Mariam O'Reilly's liking). One of the things that always caught Fiona's eye was clothing. The different styles of clothes always fascinated her, as they were artistically beautiful to her and yet they were practical (almost in the same way clocks fascinated Charles Holloway). Although Fiona wasnt always sure about future plans, she did know that she wanted her future to have something to do with clothing. When she grew up, Fiona became a seamstress. It was one of her pride and joys in life and her way of channeling burdened emotions (especially after receiving news of the death of her youngest sister, Charlotte, upon which she knitted a scarf in dedication to the memory of her). Later on in life, Fiona met and married a blacksmith named Alastair and bore two children: Adair and Edana

Although she is a rather simple woman, she is well-respected among family members, especially by her nephew, Fidget.

Character model(s):

Fiona Fitzpatrick is another typical character without any specific basis. As she is somewhat a minor character, my intent was to keep Fiona's persona very simple. Her appearance was also very typical. However, I did rely on four character models during the process of creating her. The first one, Magaret Hamilton, was to establish a certain appearance for Fiona. I was always admired by Hamilton's portrayal of serious, cynical, and "wicked women," such as her role as the wicked witch in the 1937 film, The Wizard of Oz. But since most of what I seen in Hamilton's roles focused on cynical characters, I wanted to soften up Fiona's character. So came my next model, Piper Laurie. As for her voice, I chose Maureen O'Hara, as I needed an authentic Irish accent.
