on this comment left by linnet101 – It's hard to imagine anything topping Star
Wars for Teal'c, I'd imagine he'd be the type of person who passionately hated
The Phantom Menace, but bought all the DVD sets just the same

Jack opened the door to his
house and made his way over to the living room, not at all surprised that
Carter, Teal'c and Daniel were sprawled over his furniture. He'd told them to
make themselves at home, but damn. But truth be told, he didn't really care.
This was going to be their last get together in this place before he moved onto
greener pastures, so...at least they hadn't busted into his stash of beer.
"I got it," he
said, holding up the rental.
"What movie did you
pick out, sir?" Carter asked.
Jack held up the case
proudly. He never saw his old team's faces fall so fast.
"What?" he asked.
"That movie has been
out for ages," Carter said.
"And your point? It's
not for you. It's for Teal'c."
Teal'c turned his head.
"I will not watch."
"What?" Jack
looked at the box and then to Teal'c. "I thought you loved this
stuff?"
Teal'c's jaw twitched, and
he stood. "This movie is not Star Wars."
Jack frowned and glanced
down at the box. "It says Star --"
"It is not." His
eyes narrowed.
Jack blinked. Okay then.
Well, there just went a few bucks on some Phantom Menace flick.
"I told you,"
Daniel muttered.
"Told me what?"
"Sir, there's a
difference between the original trilogy and the prequels," Carter said.
"I'm sure Teal'c has gone over this with you."
Jack knew enough about this
cash cow to know there was more than one movie. You had to live under a rock
not to know the basic premise to these things. But Teal'c was being too damn
picky.
"Look, he's watched
these, what, twenty times now?" Jack tossed the rental on the table.
"How am I supposed to know which is which?"
Carter and Daniel just gave
him a look -- one of those "know-it-all" looks that never failed to
make Jack scowl. When they were done, they made their way over to the table to
examine the rental.
Daniel's face puckered into
a wrinkled frown as he studied the booklet they'd stuffed into the rental.
"I think I've seen this before."
Carter leaned over to him.
"Daniel?"
Daniel bypassed Carter
completely and walked over to Teal'c, holding the booklet out so he could see
it. "Don't you have this in your--"
"I do not," he
snapped.
"But I swear--"
"Then, you are
mistaken, Daniel Jackson. We will speak of it no more."
Daniel just stared at him.
Carter smiled. And Jack was no idiot.
"Fine," Jack said,
snatching the movie out of Daniel's hands before he headed to the DVD player.
"We'll just watch something else and then catch this one later."
Teal'c held his head high
and leaned back into one of Jack's chairs. "That is not necessary,
O'Neill. You have paid money for this movie." He folded his hands. "I
shall remain."
Jack couldn't help but
smile, catching the sneaky grins that Daniel and Carter exchanged behind him,
and for a moment he forgot about all the changes that would be happening in his
life soon. There was only the moment, the company, and some really loud music
that happened someplace far, far away.
