Author's Notes:  Written for cyren_2132 who wanted an admission from Daniel to Jack that leaves Daniel feeling vulnerable and Jack feeling understanding, if not a little awkward/uncomfortable.

"I wanted to kill him."

 

Jack nodded. Understandable, given the circumstances.

 

"No, Jack. You don't understand. I wanted to kill him." Daniel's eyes were pleading to him, searching for exoneration or absolution. "I really wanted to kill him."

 

Jack said nothing.

 

"I know he did the right thing. I know. But I still wanted to kill him."

 

Jack was no stranger to the rage. He knew what it felt like, tasted like. He squirmed in his chair. But for Daniel…

 

"I wanted to kill him," Daniel whispered, slumping in his seat.

 

Jack reached over and squeezed his shoulder. "But you didn't."
