I Dream….
Sometimes
I shudder at night, walking into a reality I know just can't be true. My mind
tells me so, offering quiet reassurances that all is well, that this is my
fate. Fantasies of other worlds and distant peoples are just that—fantasies.
But
my heart tells me different. It speaks of loss, love, and friendship. It sings
songs wilder than my imagination, any imagination. It beckons me forward into
the shimmering pool of light, to break my shackles and embrace my freedom.
Freedom
to dream. All these dreams.
But
I know my fate. Here, below, far beneath the surface, never to know such life.
Yet
I dream…and will continue to dream…
