Baby Boy O'Brien #2 's
Story

Jack and my mother became really close.  So close, that they went steady.   Jack led my mother on to believe that he was going to marry her...And why shouldn't she have believed him? He was married once before.

Then, in May of 1968, just 7 months after she gave birth to her first baby, my mother was pregnant again…

Jack wasn't any better than Paul.  He, too, denied that the baby was his and, like Paul, left her.  Again, my mother was going to be a mother and was all alone.

She didn't know what to do…

By now, she was working at a place called Mighty Oak Laundry-Mat.  She was still living with friends.

Then, on February 6, 1969, my mother gave birth to a baby boy at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida.  She informed the hospital staff of her desire to give her baby up for adoption.  She was allowed to see this baby boy, though.  He was 3 days old.

When my mother left the hospital, she went back to work at Mighty Oak.

When the baby was about 4-6 weeks old, a woman brought my mother's baby to Mighty Oak.  She brought him over to my mother & asked her if she was sure about giving him up for adoption...My mother knew there was no way she could keep him, she was single & made very little money at the laundry-mat.  I know that deep down, she wanted to keep him, but instead of taking him back, she told the woman that yes, it was her wish to give her baby up.

The woman who brought my brother to see my mother had blonde hair & was about 28 years old. My mother assumes the woman was a case-worker, but she doesn't really know who she was.  When she left, she informed my mother that she was taking the baby to a foster home.  That was the last time my mother saw her son.

My mother went on with her life & in 1970, she met my father.  They loved each other very much & in 1974 in New Jersey (where my dad was from & where they were living at the time) my mother & father got married.  Then, 4 years later, in 1978, after many false hopes & miscarriages, my mother gave birth to twin girls.  I (Crystal) was the first twin & my sister, Amber, was the second twin to be born.  My mother never had any more children.

When we were children, my sister & I used to beg my mother to get pregnant again so we could have a little brother.  What we really wanted was a BIG brother (almost as if we knew), but we knew that was not possible (or so we thought).  My mother never told us about our brothers, in fear that we would go out & do the same thing she did.  Then, when my sister got pregnant, my mother told her about my brothers...She was SHOCKED, but kept her word to my mother never to tell me.  Then, years later, when I got pregnant, my mother told me about my BIG brothers...I, too, was shocked, but very happy at the same time.

Then, during summer of 1998, I began my search for my 2 BIG brothers…Then, in January 2001, through the help of some wonderful Angels (thank you all SO much), I FINALLY found BOTH of my brothers.  Baby Boy #1 was found on 1-4-01 & Baby Boy #2 was found on 1-18-01.

Here is what I know about Jack Gray…

He had blue eyes and light blonde hair.  My mother describes him as being very muscular, very good-looking, with a "nice build."  Jack had fair skin and was maybe 21 or 22 years old.  He was very  tall, maybe 6'1".

My mother…

Has green eyes and brown hair...She is rather short at 5'2".  As a teenager, she was always under 100 pounds, so she was very tiny
