He is part of a secret

who observe and record but never interfere.

Joe Dawson is a watcher.

He is Duncan's watcher and his friend.

          Joe Dawson is a mortal man of about fifty years of age.

He fought in Vietnam and lost both of his legs to a land mine.

He walks with the aid of two false legs and walking sticks.

Joe has a tattoo  on the inside of his wrist to indicate he is a watcher.

He is always helping Duncan with his problems and giving him info on other immortals.

Much to the annoyance of his superiors who once tried to kill him for consorting with immortals.

              Joe owns a blues bar and can often be found playing the blues on his guitar. Joe's bar is a haven for Duncan and co.
