Meet Chester
Chester (above) is one years old, he is the dominant black capped chickadee of my residense, he wouldn't be if his brother, if Charlie was still alive, Charlie was hit by a car, and is now buried under his favourite tree.  After Charlie's death, I called for Chester, shouting Chester, like crazy, when all of the sudden, Chester appeared above me, and sang his song.. fee-bee fee-bee
Chester isn't like the other chickadees, he's plumper, and has a raspier call.
Chester came in my life one late summer morning, I had been hearing chickadees calling, around the house, and finally I saw them, three little chickadees and their worn out parents, Chester was the smallest, he slipped and slided off the squirrel proof feeder and practically stole my heart away, he was so cute, and I named him Chester, cause of a poem used on one of my favourite movies, Singing in the Rain.
~'Chester Choses Chestnuts, Chedder Cheese and chewy chives, he chooses them and he chews them, those chestnuts chedder cheese and chewy chives, in cherry, charming chunks.'~
Last spring, I was having troubles with the neighbors cats, they hadn't claimed any birds, and I hope they wouldn't, well one day, I woke up and no birds were on the feeders, despite all the food, I heard a hissing sound, it was Chester, he was hissing and doing these very, very low Chick-a-dee-dee calls, I watched, wondering, the house finches wanted on the feeder, but Chester kept on pushing them back, and when they landed he dived at them, scaring them back in the tree, I went out, and as it happened there was a cat in my bushes, Chester kept on hissing till the cat fled the seen, which I chased.. ;) Soon it was back to normal, Chester wasn't only my friend but a little hero.
Chester found a pretty little chickadee this summer, whom I named Chelsea, and they raised a brood of 5, 4 left but one stayed, he was small like his dad, and even plumpier, he loves peanuts, and hence his name... Peanut.
