We are always in need various supplies. Currently we are looking for the following:

Food:

  • 'Good' quality dog/puppy kibble (low corn and/or wheat content).

  • Baby food in jars (single foods, fruit, veg, meat).

  • Grapes, plums and other soft fruits.

  • Whole, to be 'retired' chickens from free range egg farms (we will do 'the deed' if you prefer).

Machines:

  • Clothes washing machine (they poop on a lot of laundry)

  • Tools - circular saw

  • Truck/Van

  • Open Box Trailer (for hauling cages/supplies/trash)

Maintenance Supplies:

  • Lumber - plywood, 2x4's, posts etc

  • Heavy duty/construction grade white plastic tarps.

  • Garden hoses - 'quick connect' fittings for garden hoses.

  • Fire hoses

  • Used 'sailcloth' (from sailboat sails or similar weather resistant fabric) for use in making animal hammocks.

  • Commercial (grey) dish/bus pans - used in restaurants

Cleaning Supplies:

  • Bleach and Virox (from Janitors Warehouse) for disinfecting.

  • Unscented laundry detergent.

  • Brooms (large push ones)

  • Scrub brushes

  • Sponges

  • Paper towels

Medical Supplies:

  • Surgical gloves

  • Vet Wrap

  • O-Ring syringes

  • Lactated Ringers

Cages/Kennels:

  • Small 'cat' size plastic kennels

  • Medium dog plastic kennels with metal ventilation inserts - wild creatures have a tendency to chew through un-reinforced ventilation holes or slats.

  • Large and Extra Large plastic dog kennels (with metal ventilation inserts)

  • Any size metal or wire crate, preferably with the metal floor pan.

  • Any size metal/wire dog pens.

Property:

  • We have been at our current South Nanaimo location for over five years, but unfortunately this is a rented property. We would like to establish a permanent base by getting a property donated or locating a suitable lease or rent to own site.

This would allow us to expand our facilities to meet the ever increasing needs of injured, orphaned and at risk wildlife. This would also eliminate the stress of long transports to other facilities for wildlife we can only temporarily house (deer, fawns, beaver etc.) due to the limitations of our current site.

Ideally the relocation would be in the 'mid - island' (Duncan to Bowser) area, with at least one acre (more is good!) of secluded woodland. Existing building(s) - house, garage, sheds, barn, etc. - would be a bonus, but ample water (good well!) and a functioning septic system would really help keep costs down.

If you can help us out in this regard please contact:
