The Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram
The Ritual of the Pentagram is a simple yet very useful tool to the magician.
The Banishing Ritual of the Pentgram grounds the magician and establishes a protective
circle of operation. Done regularly it helps to develop powers of
visualization and concentration.
1. Begin with the Qabalistic Cross by reaching dagger or wand above
the head and coming down to the forehead (the crown chakra) and vibrate Ateh (Unto Thee).
2. Touching the breast vibrate Malkuth (The Kingdom).
3. Touching th right shoulder, vibrate Ve-Geburah (and the Power).
4. Touching the left shoulder vibrate Ve-Gedulah (and the Glory).
5. Clasping both hands upon the dagger or wand upon the breast,
vibrate Le-Olahm, Amen, (To the Ages, Amen).
6. Turning to the East, make a banishing pentagram of the Earth with the proper weapon
(usually a daggaer or a wand). Visualize the pentagram in blue and
vibrate IHVH (Ye-ho-wau).
7. Turning to the South, repeat the same but vibrate ADNI (Adonai).
8. Turning to the West, repeat, but vibrate, AHIH (Eheieh).
9. Turning to the North, the same, but vibrate AGLA (Agla).
10. Extend the arms outwards in the form of a cross (The sighn of Osiris slain) and say:
Before me Raphael (visualize a column of yellow);
Before me Gabriel (visualize a column of blue);
At my right hand, Michael (visualize a column of red);
At my left hand Auriel (visualize a column of green);
About me flames the Pentagram
Within me shines the Six-Rayed Star.
Repeat the Qabalistic Cross Ritual (steps 1-5) and end with the Sign of Silence
(This is done by placing either the thumb or the index finger to the lips, head bowed,
feet together).
