Edward Morow, 60, of the New Zion Community, Athens, died early Frid ay morning in a local hospital following a lengthy illness. A lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was the son of the late I ra and Hattie Clark Morrow. Mr. Morrow was a former employee of the Webb and Sons Construction Co mpany and also a construction superintendent with Tipton-Reynolds Construc tion Company. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II and was a member of t he Church of God of McMinn County. Survivors include his wife Mrs. Christine Plemons Morrow of Athen s: four daughters, Mrs. J. D. (Joyce) Miller of Englewood; Mrs. Eugene ( Linda) Bowers, Mrs. Borden (Janette) Derrick, Mrs. Clinton (Mary Jane) Wad e, all of Etowah; three sons, Ronnie Morrow of Athens, David Morrow of H ot Springs, Ark., Mark Morrow of Etowah; three grand-daughters and four gr andsons; six sisters, Mrs. Hattie Penland of Knoxville, Mrs. J. Burial will follow in the Sunrise Cemetery. The body is in state at the Smith Funeral Home where the family wi ll receive friends Friday night from 7 to 9 p.m. Pallbearers will be Bill Roberts, Johnnie Miller, Hillard Hayes, Da ve Burris, Ronnie Miller and Henry Culberson. MARY LEE MORROW SMITH Mrs. Mary Lee Morrow Smith, 66, of Athens, died Friday at her home. A native and life-long resident of McMinn County, she was a daught er of the late Frank and Anna Lou McBroom Morrow and was preceded in dea th by her husband, Raymond C. "Jug" Smith on Nov. 10, 1980. She was of t he Baptist faith, employee of Allied-Signal Friction Materials, memb er of Woodmen of the World, and the United Auto Workers Local No. 1676.
