Bentley
Bentley joined our family on June 13, 2001.  He was 15 weeks old.  His first family was unable to give him the time he needed, so we adopted him.  He is red and white with just a hint of black on his back.  He loves to play and wrestle with our other basset Opie.  He also likes to stick his whole head in his water dish to get a drink.   Bentley loves to chase butterflies in the backyard, he's never caught one, but he loves to try.  We are enjoying watching him grow.

Good Friends!
A game of tug, with a favorite toy.
Opie has taught Bentley how to get in the bathtub to get a drink out of the faucet.  It amazes us, how much Opie has taught Bentley in the short time he has lived here.

Opie
One afternoon Bentley came in from playing in the yard.  His face was swollen and his head had lumps on it.  We rushed him to the vet, who treated him for an allergic reaction, most likely from a wasp sting.  The medicine helped and his swelling went down within a few hours.  Bentley still loves to chase butterflies, but if he sees a bee or a wasp, he quickly backs away.
Bentley has also taught Opie a few things in the time he has lived here.  Opie likes to sit on the picnic table to keep watch on the neighborhood.  Bentley decided the trampoline would work better.  He did it a few times and before long, they were both up there.  We have since moved the trampoline away to avoid any possibility of injuries.
Bentley and Sarah enjoy a quiet moment.
Bentley is almost a year old now, we have enjoyed watching him grow from an awkward puppy to an energetic young adult.  He thinks that snow was created just for him, he loves to roll and play in it.
