| Bacchus Temple Located in Baalbek, Lebanon Built in 150 Built of Cut Stone in the desert. Built in the Ancient Roman Corinthian style. The temple of bacchus, which many historians consider the best-presserved Roman temple of its size, is part of baalbek's immense semiruins. Its peristyle of forty-two unfluted corithian columins emberasses sturily presserved exterior walls. The approach to the cella or worship rooms proclaims grander with its surpurior scale...The inner side walls of the nave are divided into bays by projection Cortian half-colums to produce a series of superiuposed niches, round-headed below, angled aboved, the latter origanlly with statues. the temple was roofed with ceader trusses. The temple however, is but a single aspect of the vast complex. Baalbek is unequeled for boldness of consept and skill in utilizing Herculean masonry. |

| Brookly Bridge It spans over the East River, new Yorkcity between the boroughts of Brookly and Manhattan. the bridge was designed by the American engineer John Augusus Roebling, and consruction began in 1869 by his son. When the Brookly Bridge was opened for use on May 24 1883, it was the longest suspention bridge in the world. The amin suspention span in 486 m long; the average height above the river is 41 m; and overall lenght of 2065m. |
