Comeuppance
By: LadyWillow

A voice calls sweetly
to me
and fear grips my body.
I know her
-That Voice-
I can't face Her again.

Quickly I run, farther and
farther away from Her voice
until it is nothing but a faint,
cracking whisper carried by the
gusting wind.

As I run, memories of the
hurt
come flooding back.
Pain flashes in my mind
I cry out as I trip down
the curb.
Pain shoots through my leg.
I lay in the street, broken
leg and broken will.

And just before the truck hits
my limp form;

I thank the Gods that it is
Finally
Over.

You'll get what you deserve
Becky.
