Not great!2
Firstly, I'm absolutely fanatical about Priest, and will always buy their stuff! There are bad points and good points about this DVD. Firstly, the bad: I was aware when I purchased this that it is an UNAUTHORIZED documentary... so, don't expect any interview footage of the band at all - it ain't there.
Sadly, what also isn't there is any of Priest's music - what you get is not-very-good cover versions of a few priest songs, edited over stock footage of a band that clearly isn't them and a few photos which are repeated over and over. The "album-by-album" review is missing key albums as well - "Unleashed", "Defenders" and "Ram It Down" are either mentioned in passing or simply omitted.
The good points: There's a great interview with Painkiller producer Chris Tsangarides which is really fun and informative; The rock journalists that are interviewed are also very well informed and, in the case of Malcolm Dome and Geoff Barton, fairly authorititive on Priest's story.
They cover a wide variety of interesting issues, particularly Rob's coming out of the closet, which Priest are generally very tight-lipped about.
In short, this DVD is only for the die-hard, must-have-everything fanatic - and keep your expectations very low!

just trying to help my fellow priest fanatics.5
hello , i dont know if they will allow me to post this because it doesnt pertain to the item " music in review " ,
but i hope it may reach a few people out there anyway....yes , my apartment is a small priest palace and if u really , really get into priest like myself i have sad news. but first , back in 1990 i was home rom work and what was on mtv ? halford was leaving priest. i was actually depressed for awhile im from phoenix aeizona and rob has a place / home somewhere in phoenix and all i know is there's a church very close. i heard the bells in an old interview around the time " RAM IT DOWN " CAME OUT. the sad news is that in 2011 judas priest will tour the U.S.
and it will be their farewell concert and judas priest will call it quits. on WGN , which is a cable station & it's part of the basic cable and of course it's in all cable tv to the best of my knowledge. it's out of chgo my home town CHICAGO , ILL. and he was on w/ the band, " HALFORD " and the HALFORD BAND played in acoustic. i love Metal Mike , the drummer Jarzombek , " Roy Z." Ramirez , and on bass Mike Davis ( i believe he's in ). the other comment id like to share w/ all my Metal Heads and that includes me. there is a vhs / dvd that goes back around the british steel area called " PRIEST LIVE " ( not the one titled judas priest....Live. there is a dvd called
Judas Priest...Live Vengeance 1982..that vhs or dvd is the same one as " Priest Live ". it's from 1982 at a concert in memphis , tenn. same concert , just a different title. i hope they will post this because a lot of people dont know this... i hope i helped , don b.

No Defenders Of The Faith Review?1
No Defenders Of The Faith review? What a joke! Defenders is my personal favorite Priest release. Freewheel Burning, Love Bites, The Sentinal... are some of their finest work in the whole catalogue. Defenders is a metal masterpiece from start to finish. The fact every release is mentioned, except Defenders makes this a 1 star rating at best and loses all crediblity for the hardcore Priest fan. Malcome Dome is an idiot! See my Van Halen book review by this dolt.
