GENESSA -- DESSERT! SWEETS FOR THE SWEET Both Lady G and Lionheart possess at least one sweet tooth (apart from being sweet on each other). Lady G is more discriminating (or pickier, according to Lionheart) about the sweets she favors, whereas Lionheart eats cookies right out of a box from the grocer's shelf (well, we buy them and take them home -- or at least as far as the car -- first!) But when Lady G bakes something special, Lionheart does know the difference (and, we might add, express his appreciation). The one culinary feat Lady G has yet to accomplish to her satisfaction is pie crust. She has perused recipes, experimented freely, wept and sworn, but a good pie crust eludes her. Oh, sure, she can slap some butter and graham cracker crumbs together and do it that way, but a nice, flaky traditional crust? She will let you know when that miracle occurs. On the other hand, Lionheart is studying hard to pass his "boil water" test. On a sober note, both Lady G, who is not thin, and Lionheart, who is, are at risk for diabetes. If you are, too, or have alas wandered beyond the risk category, you need not wander off this page as well. We do our best to include sugar-free items in addition to full-sugar versions. Lady G has almost completed a novel called The Tzaddik of Tsurumai, but it's trapped on a lonely, homeless hard drive at the moment.
