"As the new Millenium dawns upon us and many of 'our kind' believe that we are coming closer to the final nights, many elders desperately struggle to convince members of their sect that the Antedeluvians are just a myth created by the Sabbat. Cling desperately to that last vain hope as a moth to the flame, I know where I shall be at the end times...
Many elder than I have studied in vain to decipher what is to come and still vital clues are being overlooked.

For you, who are born in this time into the Camarilla or the Sabbat, I pity you, for you are made weak by the misdirections of your sect. What little pieces of the puzzle that are not hidden from you, are so distorted by the elders own selfish whims, that the salt outweighs the truth. But here in this place, some of that may still be rectified."

Vampires.

For those of you who have played in the Storyteller System what I am about to discuss is probalby irrelevant. However the example characters & possible settings for chronicles may interest you. Feel free to browse and use the characters if you want to save you the hassle of countless NPC's statistics to make up. If you want to add any of your favourite characters to these pages then e-mail me with the details and I will see what I can do. (It would be useful if they were in the same format as the other sample characters.)
For those whose embrace into the World of Darkness was far more recent, welcome. Your Storyteller should be used to dealing with players who are not used to the system and should therefore try to accomodate you as best they can. The best advice that I can give is to read the character creation process and the various clans & then find out what kind of chronicle your Storyteller has in mind. On that basis discuss with your Storyteller about what kind of character you want to play & if it is suitable.
Sit down with your Storyteller and describe your character to them, their background, why and by whom they were embraced etc... Whilst doing this your Storyteller will help you to assign the dots to suit the character and not the other way round.
If it is your first few gaming sessions then I suggest you play a character with a status of no more than 1 ( that way you do not have to know all that much about kindred society), and take the common sense merit as this will help the Storyteller to help you. If you are unsure about anything from the rules to how you are expected to behave when socialising with other kindred then don't be afraid to ask your Storyteller, we all have to start somewhere.
Lastly enjoy yourself, it is the most important part of roleplaying and the system and the rules are just guidelines as to what your character can do.
If you do however become confused by any aspect of the playing of Vampire and your Storyteller cannot clear up that confusion, e-mail me  entitling it WoDFAQ and I will do my best to answer any quieries. There are several other Storytellers I can ask if I do not know. You will find the answer ASAP on the World of Darkness FAQ.
