Having decided to move in together, Martin Fraser and Karen Knowles buy a small house on Bedford Road. Typical of Martin, he refused to buy any furniature until he had a desk and a computer on it. This did unfortunately mean that they didn't have enough money to buy a setee and a TV, but after some severe glaring from his girlfriend, Martin promised to buy her a nice big setee and a good TV as soon as he found a job.
To help him in his promise, Karen refused to let Martin into the house until he had found a job. Picking up the paper, Martin took the position of night security guard advertised, while Karen surfed the net and got a job as a campaign worker. Finally letting Martin onto his computer, they were soon interrupted by a visit from their neighbours - Traci and Elvira Topps.
Karen gets on well with Elvira, but - true to form - Martin starts to Bore traci with talk of Computers and Physics.
The couple invite the girls into the house for some lunch, and slightly wierded out by Martin's conversations on "Are computer Viruses Life?" the three girls leave Martin to sit by himself while they eat and chat.
As the night goes on, they chat, and make a basis for a future friendship. They eventually say goodnight, and Martin sneaks into Bed to catch a quick nap before his late night shift. As Martin dreams his computer dreams, Karen has a tantrum and refuses to sleep in the same bed as him.
Now feeling refreshed, Martin gets up, ready to face his new job, while Karen grumpily gets into bed. The sleep must have really done him some good, as as soon as he finnishes his first shift, Martin is accepted as a cadet into Police Training school. As Karen gets up, Martin goes to bed, shattered after his shift. Unfortunately, Martin's new job starts at 9am, but after an night shift, Martin is in no shape to go anywhere, and as the carpool leaves, taking Karen to work, Martin snores away.
Feeling a little guilty at sleeping in, Martin buys a large Setee, and a big screen TV, and decides to make dinner for Karen, so it's ready for when she comes in. Unfortunately, all Karen comes home to is Martin running round the kitchen panicking after having set the cooker on fire.
Eventually getting dinner, the couple sit back and watch TV for a while, before Karen curles up in Bed while Martin takes the couch, still not being let to sleep in the same bed.
Meanwhile over in the Gauci household, Joseph is at home playing on the computer while Leanne was off at work on the film set. Unfortunately, Leanne comes home early after an accident at work. Whilst performing a stunt, Leanne missed the airbag when jumping from a flaming building. Rushing out to greet her, Joseph kisses his wife.
Comming into the house, Leanne goes straight to the Body Building Machine to build up her Body after the acident.
As they relax together, their new Neighbour Karen decides to pay them a visit, so they invite her in for dinner and a chat. After talking late into the night, the new friends say goodnight, and the couple get ready for bed.
In the morning, Leanne and Joseph both sleep in, so Joseph gets up and runs for the car, while Leanne casually saunters out. While they are out to work, Martin decides to pop by for a visit. Nobby No Mates strikes again! (Poor Martin)
