Feuershwanz Des Hauptmanns Geiller Hauen – Prima Noche

Bands like Corvus Corax have clearly started something of a movement in Germany, with some kind of a hankering from what was once possibly a simpler way of life with all things Medieval – now, we are offered Prima Noche.

 

It has 15 tracks, the playing time of the whole CD is very long indeed, and it is fullof slapstick humour and drunken laughs, snores, burps and farts – yep, it is sending up the whole thing, in great glee.

 

It makes sense - my German is not brilliant, but I was able to work out that the title is something to do with the fiery willies of the men in charge, or something of that nature. But let us not descend too much into the Monty Python buffoonery not just of the CD but nof the booklet too.

 

I should think that the people concerned must have had great fun doing this, but suspect that you would have to Be There in order to really appreciate the humour in full. Musically, it is certainly shows signs of having a reasonable level of expertise.
