| Bass Bass is now the only brewery in the town. It stands on the site that previously belonged to Harp Lager Ltd. The building was built in 1961 and the site was chosen because of it's excellent water supply. In 2003 the name Bass finally went. The premises is now owned by Coors, |

| Trimmings were not brewers but they did manufacture soft drinks on their chemist premises. The firm of Trimmings still trades as a chemist in the High St in Alton today. |
| In 1903 Courage and Co. decided that a new brewery was required to brew Pale Ale. After much searching, Halls of Alton was purchased. The brewery was much enlarged and was then capable of producing 4000 barrels a week. The last brew at Alton was on May 1st 1969. The whole brewing concern was transferred to Reading. |
