The blue TIPPERS ANIMAL MEDICINES was a great find for Chris among a job lot of bottles. Very odd that the Tippers has the word POISON at top - and that it is supposed to be a medicine? The bottle below is a swing stopper for SUTTIES of ST ANDREWS.
On the GB front he picked up the WALSHAWS of GODALMING at a local car boot. Godalming stuff is not that easy to come by and have never heard of Walshaws, but maybe the Surrey boys know different. A nice JW COURT from DEAL in KENT with the Star of David on.
The impressed GB BUDGEONS STORES ASCOT is interesting as that company is still in the supermarket business today.
The DORNAT from BARNSTABLE is a common bottle from Devon.
The free blown wine was yet another car boot find feo Chris. This probably dates around 1720-1730, was Enlish made and because of the light colour probably destined for the European market.
Not a bottle but a bit of Kitchenalia. A green topped bakelite JUBILEE CREAM MAKER.
The evenings competiton was for 2 pill/lozenge tins. Not an easy subject as it only attracted 2 entries.
First was Mick with the Rhubarb Pills and the Beechams Pills from St Helens - Worth a guinea a Box.
Second was Ivan who brought along a Blackcurrant flavoured pastilles and an OXO money box. Not quite what the competition was for, but we let him have a point for entering.
