A few more days and it will be the Alton show. This is our 30th anniversary, as 1979 was when the club started up and we held our first show at the Alton Assembly Rooms. Sundays show is once again fully booked so hopefully it will all go well.
Steve bought this Day, Son & Hewitts Stockbreeders Medicine Chest on Ebay. The back panel of the lid has the original printed instructions on it but someone has pasted a plain piece of paper over it. As you can see from picture when the rest is removed it will be back to it's former glory. Dates around 1890.
Hodgy dug a MAYS of BASINGSTOKE beer plus a HARTRIDGE & SON ginger beer from HAMBLEDON. Together with a few other bits of bulk was about all he got out of this hole before being kicked off by Mrs Plod.
Bryan and Chris took a trip up North for a dig. a DARCYS XXX INVALID stout, an EMMERSON GB, a G ELANDS SODA & MINERAL WATER CROSS ST, WESTGATE ROAD, NEWCASTLE hamilton plus another of those POWTONS bullet stopper Codds that we featured in our Dec 2008 news sheet. Not a very successful dig.
Ivan brought along this WOODHAM & OCKENDON patent hamilton together with the patent description. This was one of the very first external screw stoppered bottles in 1885.
The evenings competition was for 2 POTTED MEAT pots. First Gordon, Second Ivan, Third Mick, Fourth Chris.
