Traditional Samplers II
Many of these are my orginal designs based on traditional motifs and were
marketed under the company name of Dancing Needle Designs

The Suitors The Suitors - 1995
Featuring "Pug" the Dancing Needle logo, The Suitors is reminiscent of a 17th Century English band sampler. This sampler was worked in Broider Wul and Anchor floss. Sadly, many of the colors of the Broider Wul used are no longer available - if you have this design and would like a conversion chart for the wool, click here.

Bairn of Dundrennon - 1995
A piece from my sampler study series. This design is based upon 18th Century Scottish schoolgirl samplers. The charts in this series were to focus on particular time periods and/or geographic locations. They included a page of text on the charactistics of the sampler and a bibliography.

Killyleagh Schooler Killyleagh Schooler - 1995
This sampler looks at 18th Century Irish school girl samplers. The shamrocks on this sampler are made with green aventurine hearts.

Songs of the Meadow - 1995
Another design stitched on Strathaven linen.
This little sampler is one of my personal favorites.

The Eternal Song The Eternal Song - 1996
This sampler was designed as a teaching piece for
