Abandoned General Hospital
We've been in almost every section of the hospital. Our next goal is to explore the tunnels that are supposed to run under the street to the (still active) prison down the road.
Argentia Army Base
We're hoping to get closer to the Sub Tracking station to get some pictures. There's also the old bomb range near the
cabins. There is also supposed to be an underground building in the woods
between the highway and the Sub Tracking station. We still haven't seen the second gun bunker.
We didn't get a chance to check out the tunnel going from one cove to another the last time we where there so that's first on the list for next time. There are also some abandoned buildings worth checking out there too.
Brookfield Rd. Slaughter House
We've been told that there is an abandoned Slaugher house on Brookfield Rd. We're planning a recon mission to find the place and document it.
Castle Hill cave/tunnel
We've gotten some information that there is a tunnel/cave on the back of the Castle Hill historic site that Parks Canada may not even know about. It may not have been visited since the 1950's and it may even have artifacts dating back to the 1700's.
Logy Bay Spa Spring
There's supposed to be an old spa spring pool in one of the rivers in Logy Bay.
Memorial University Utility Tunnels
We've found the entrances to the tunnels. A mission to document the tunnels is being planned.
Petty Harbour cave/mine
Several people have told me about a cave out in Petty Harbour. We've drove by once but we now have better directions so hopefully we can find this spring.
There were underground tunnels going between many of the buildings on the base (built by the Americans during WWII). Alot of these tunnels have been destroyed along with the buildings but some of them still exist. We just need to find a safe way into them.
Red Cliff Radar Station Dam
We've found the dam but we still have to explore the old pump house next to it.
We're planning to explore the parkway drain some more and continue looking for more explorable drains.
T.A. Lench high school:
This abandoned school is in Little Catalina. Norm Reid (the guy killed by police) wanted to turn it into a factory but, for now, sits boarded up and vacant. photo
Quidi Vidi Copper Mine:
This mine was started in 1909 and closed a year later. It's in the White Hills facing Quidi Vidi.
There are lots of WWII bunkers that are all connected by tunnels all through these hills. We're going to try and find a way in.
I'm always on the look out for new places to check out. Do you know of something
that's worth checking out? E-mail me.
Disclaimer: We do not accept responsibility or think it's a good idea
for anyone to enter any of these buildings or do anything we talk about on this
