The Cape Shore
Heading south along Highway 100, the rolling forested hills near Whitbourne slowly reveal a long river valley, eventually leading to the towns of Dunnville, Argentia, Placentia, and many others. Following the coast south to Cape St. Mary's, one passes through such picturesque villages as Little Barasway and Great Barasway, Gooseberry Cove and St. Bride's, to name a few. Side trips to Fox Harbour, Ship Harbour and Long Harbour further towards the head of Placentia Bay are also possible. All of these places form a part of the area known as the Cape Shore.

Plans to visit the Cape Shore never seem to work out for me, with the only trips to this beautiful area being to Placentia and the ferry terminal at Argentia. If all goes well and I return to my native land soon, maybe I can finally make the trip down the Cape Shore, and witness for myself the bird colonies at Cape St. Mary's and the renowned vistas of Placentia Bay and it's islands.
