20-21 March 1999 Join your comrades in arms to commemorate the Federal attack on Bibb Furnace which took place on 31 March 1865. Fight on hallowed ground defended by determined Southern troops, who guarded one of the Confederate's richest treasures...its last source of necessary iron. Portray one of Union General James Wilson's dedicated raiders or one of General P.D. Roddey's loyal Confederates determined to save the Bibb Ironworks. Battles will be at 2:00PM on Saturday and Sunday. General admission will be $4.00 per day per adult, Kids 6 to 12 $2.00 and kids 6 and under free. There will be military bands, sutlers, calvary and cannons. Directions: From I-65 take Alabama 25 (about 15 miles; map 1, map 2). From Tuscaloosa take Highway 82 to Centreville, then left on Alabama 25 (about 14 miles). Sponsored by
