The cartoon series came from the original Comic Book series, and was probably one of the biggest reasons how the TMNT got their first fandom. It first aired in the year 1987, and after many, many years of running, it was finally canceled in the year 1996. The TMNT cartoon series captivated many many hearts of young children, and those young children are us today. We carry on the life of these guys in our own imaginations.
