The Club, which is based at Robertsbridge Working Men's Club, was formed by a small group of members who shared a mutual interest in fishing.

Whilst a few charter boat wrecking trips were organised in the past, and maybe in the future, the club is currently only involved in Beach Fishing.

Our aim is to have approximately one competition per month, dependant on tides and weather.

A nominal pool (£1 per competitor) is fished for on the day, the winner being the person with the heaviest bag.

All weights are recorded, and 10 points awarded  to the winner, 9 for second place , and so on.  The member with the highest points total over  the year wins the RWMC Fishing Cup.

There is also a trophy for heaviest fish of the year.

Anybody is welcome to compete for the pool on the day.  However, only bona fida members of Robertsbridge Working Men's Club are eligible  for the Cup.

There are separate classes for Ladies and Juniors (under 16 years of age).
