The silver Appleyard duck was created by Mr Reginald Appleyard in Great Britain. They are a good alround utility duck, very good layers plus they get to between 7lb and 9lb (3.20-4.10kg) in weight, so they are a useful table bird too, solves the problem of what to do with surplus drakes. My birds are the large Silver Appleyards, there is a miniature Silver Appleyard duck as well with weights of 21/2 -3lb (1.19-1.36kg). |
