CRYING EAGLE

This image depicts the feelings of the American people more dramatically than any number of written words. This was sent to me in an e-mail .. I have no idea who created the image ... if anyone does know, please e-mail me so I may give credit where it is richly deserved ... thank you.


9-11 ... for Americans that is the only thing you will have to say for them to remember the horror we all felt as we watched this country being attacked by terrorists. As the hours unfolded, the pictures we all saw were etched into our minds forever. Americans banded together across this great country of ours and did the only things they could do in the tremendous time of national sorrow. As our hearts broke for our fellow Americans, we gathered together in prayer and lined up to give blood. The lines here and in many places around this country were so long that people were asked to return later or tomorrow or next week so there would be a supply of blood always on hand. These decent people, many of whom had waited hours, turned and left, but vowed to return and give blood when needed. This is the resolve of the American people. Our hearts grieve for the horrific loss of life in New York, Washington DC and Pennsylvania, not only for the men, women and children aboard the four airplanes, those in the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, but for the loss of fire and police personnel when the towers collapsed. God rest the souls of each and everyone of these victims and heroes. May the Lord comfort everyone who lost a family member or friend. May all of us heal from the wound this has left in our hearts. America may be wounded, but she is not down nor will she ever be. God bless America!


This was originally going to be part of my "Tributes and Memorials" page, but I found out very quickly that there were many excellent web pages and images to be found and this has grown into a page of its own. I am sure this page will grow as the weeks and months pass ... I will add whatever I can. Thank You.
