Female Mimics Magazine
Female Mimics Magazine, originally published by Selbee, was among the First of its type to feature legitimate Female Impersonators on Stage and in their personal lives. The First Issue appeared in 1963, went through a series of publishers and in 1979 became Female Mimics International, edited by FI Kim Christy and focused thereafter more on transvestitism, gender issues and sexuality more than on Stage Performance. Other knock-off and similar publications include FEMALE IMPERSONATORS and PUDGY ROBERTS PRESENTS THE GREAT FEMALE MIMICS. FMI remained in publication until only recently and the back-stock of the publisher is available on Mags Inc. Magazines and More website. Below are several cover images that I have collected from the internet of the classic 1960s issues I will add more as I find them. Click on the picture to see a larger version.
