From Horton Davies

Horton Davies' book, "Christian Deviations: Essays in Defence of the Christian Faith" is an interesting little book on various nonChristian variations. As the name suggests, this book does not deal with foreign religions such as the ones listed above, but what Mr Davies believed to be deviations, and erroneous denominations calling themselves "Christian". Some of them - such as the British-Israelites, are more or less defunct today, but many are still with us. Davies' book is both informative, and entertaining, as well as being short enough to be read on the internet without undue difficulty. For that reason I have transcribed it to this site. I am under the impression that it is in the public domain, out of copyright, but if I am incorrect in this assumption, I will of course remove them.

Theosophy An Eastern-Western hybrid religion, of which the books can still be found easily in bookstores.

Seventh-Day Adventism Mainly notable for its sabbatarianism, this sect is popular and numerous.

Christian Science In an age of illness, faith-healing has become increasingly popular, bringing the claims of Christian Scientists into greater prominence.

Spiritualism Not so much called this today, but consulting mediums, attending seances and the like are still very popular.
