Not To Fear Darkness

 

 

The clouds are surrounding us

In a cool kind of emotion

This is where the hidden things

Are revealed

And we must look

It will not go away so easily

There are spirit forces working out there

Giving the semblance of a strange drug

For our brains

This will teach us at least one lesson

Not to fear darkness

It is here that we meet complete

With our mortal foes

And we cannot harness anger enough

So we sit looking dumbfounded

At our childish rage

And embrace this loss of pride

This is a time for warm, steaming coffee

And long conversations

To get the issues off our chests

This is the dark before the light

This is the love of our fears

And it is okay to show your tears

This is where we feel human again
