Part 3
Six weeks later the new cast was in Dallas, Texas with a sit down time of three weeks so that the new cast could be seamlessly intergraded into the show.

At 5 p.m. the cast was starting their full dress rehearsal for the following evening’s performance. Kelly had called her parents and they would be at the show that evening. Kevin & Kelly had sent pictures of themselves in full costume and makeup so that her parents would know exactly which to “CATS” to look for.

Around  noon the next day Kevin knocked on Kelly’s door. “Oh, hey,” Kelly said in a sleepy voice.

“Did I wake you up?” asked Kevin as he gave her a hug and kissed her on her forehead.

“Yea but it’s okay, I fell asleep while I was watching TV.” She said as she yawned.

“Yea? Well I just wanted to tell you that your folks are in town. They came in about an hour ago and asked if you could call them later.”

“Oh okay cool thanks.”

“So are you nervous about tonight?” He asked as they sat on the couch.

“Uuuhhh, VERY. What if I mess up? What if I forget my lines or a cue? What if I fall!”

“Kelly you’ll be fine. And I’ll be right there with you. If you get scared just look over at me.”

As she nuzzled into his arms she put her head on his muscular chest. “I don’t know how I’d ever get threw this without you by my side.”

“Well you’ll never have to find out,” he said as he kissed her.

‘He still takes my breath away,’ she thought after he kissed her.

“Remember the first time we met?” he asked as he broke into her thoughts.

“How could I forget? That was the first time Mom and I went to see CATS live. And you started teasing me about my costume.” she laughed.

“Well how else was I supposed to get your attention? He chuckled.

“True,” she said with a flirtations grin. “Well I guess I should call my parents.”

“I guess so.”

As Kelly moved around the apartment chatting to her folks Kevin sat on the couch grinning. He loved her so much and was so thankful to have her in his life. ‘So should I tell her now, or after the show?’ he thought as he reached into his jacket pocket and clutched the small velvet ring box.

“I’m not sure if we’ll have a chance to get together after the show or not,” Kelly said as she looked at Kevin as shrugged. Kevin shook his head and whispered, “We usually have a cast party for the new cast members on their first night.”
