| Born Jaden Trey, Jaden is a very active 6 1/2 year old little boy. Jaden was diagnosed with SPD (Sensory Processing Disorder) in May of 2006, as well as Pervasive Development Disorder - Not Otherwise Specified (PDD-NOS) in October of 2006. | Jaden is currently in Grade 1, and is main-streamed. At the age of 3 1/2 Jaden started his "School Career". He started out in Special Needs Pre-Kindergarten, Integrated Pre-Kindergarten, then mainstreamed into regular Kindergarten. By the time "Kindergarten" hit, he was bored. He was "tired of circle-time" etc...There was actually a point when I didn't think he'd pass into Grade 1. But he did, and he's thriving. He got his first report card in October, and Acedemically he's doing amazing. He's meeting all goals set out in his PPP, and is even exceeding in Language Arts. This is a big accomplishment for him, as he has a slight Language Delay as well. I'm so very proud of him! |

| Jaden's interests and hobbies are many and quite diverse. He LOVES math, Astronomy (his whole room is done in "Outer Space" theme), Learning about different countries & cultures. His favorite books are the Captain Underpants Series, The Magic Treehouse Series, and he feels he can so relate to Franklin the Turtle. He's also gained a new-found appreciation for the Super Nintendo. Jaden loves spending his free time reading, playing with his "brother with fur" (our cat Merlin the Wondercat), playing SNES, watching his favorite shows Spider Riders and Di-gata Defenders and playing on the computer. He also is an avid shopper, loves attending drag shows, and the races at the track when time permits. He one day wants to visit Japan, the United States (namely New York, Washington, and L.A.), and Halifax, Nova Scotia. (as I went there on a business trip in 2005). |

| This Boy has GOALS! Jaden really wants to go to University. He seems to think that he knows enough, and can just skip the rest of Elementary and Highschool, and hop on ahead. I admire his enthusiasm! LOL In no particular order, he has his life goals all set out for himself: 1) Astronaut 2) Doctor 3) Public Transit Operator 4) Daddy |
| Jaden's PDD Jaden has numerous behaviors that are indicative of an Autism Spectrum Disorder. Ones that really stand out are: 1) Obsessions with various things such as: **Maps (City maps, transit route maps, it really doesn't matter. He actually has all our bus routes down pat (He can name a destination for each bus in the city), fans (ceiling, desk style), and chewing gum 2) Lining up objects like his Hot Wheels, Mega Bloks, His Bionicles...whatever he feels like lining up. 3) Is a concrete, literal thinker (I really have to watch how I word things with him) 4) Has sensory issues...mainly "Tactile Defensiveness" (see Want to Learn More? for more info) this can present itself in ways like food sensitivites, sensitivity to sounds and smells, as well as feel of clothing. 5) Echolalia - Now this depends on a few things like his stress level, level of excitement...etc. Mainly echos lines from his favorite shows, or things he's heard from other people. 6) Stimming - Jaden's stimming has changed, and sometimes he goes back to old stims...some have been: Hitting himself, Head banging, Hand flapping, clearing his throat repeatedly, the lastest one is grunting. |
