Venezia III

Every year Venezia's Carnevale is during the month of February.  As can clearly be seen by the photos on this page, it is quite a gala event.  The photo on the right is just one vendor of many who sell carnival masks on the street and in the shops... In fact, most shops we visited sold at least a few masks, and many sold a concentration of them.  The ones I purchased can probably be considered more "lavish" than others. I'd like to note that none of the photos on this page were taken by me, but because I love masks, and keeping within the spirit of Venezia, I thought it would be a fun page for this site.

This is one of my favorites. The costumes and masks are different, yet so similiar to each other. It's very common to see groups of people dressed in the same theme, together.
