|"DROP IN" PAGE|
|On September 27th, 2000, some buddies (pictured above) and I (not pictured) installed the rebuilt 396. I was surprised just how easy it was to drop in.|
|Here's a shot just after we got it installed. I was surprised how much room was left even with the big block engine in it.
In the shot above you can also see the power steering pump wrapped in rags to prevent it from hashing my paint. I'm still waiting for the correct cradle bracket to show up. Is it me or does every item you need just happen to be on back order?
|Here's the nearly finished engine. On October 11th, 2000 we started the 396 for the first time. The mellow rummble from the new exhaust made all the work worth while.
Check out how much the engine bay filled up once the battery, radiator, shroud, etc were installed. If you are looking for a shroud for your '66 look to Classic Industries. Their shroud is WAY overpriced, but it did the trick and looks stock. I also got the correct air cleaner set up from them.
