| Here's a shot of myself (on the right) and my buddy Mark (the one who knows what he's doing) during the teardown process. The engine was in remarkably good shape. It did require a valve job with oversized valves and hardened seats, but for the most part the engine was ok as is. In addition to the valve job we decided its better to be safe than sorry, so we freshened all the bearings, rings, honed the cyliners, replaced the lifters, and dropped in newer valve springs. All this plus a slightly more aggressive cam (installed by the orginal owner) should be good for a few more horses than the orginal 325hp. |
