Bonsai
Pekingese
About
Us and Philosophies

The potential
for an entire forest is already present within a seed. Just as the potential
for a giant redwood is present within the tiny bonsai, the heart of a lion
lives within the Pekingese. The bonsai, as well as the Pekingese, because
of it's size, speaks quietly, but eloquently,of a larger and infinitely
more complex being. Both with ancient Chinese origins, the bonsai as well
as the pekingese have to be viewed as living works of art, whose style
has evolved from the original ancient forms.
Pekingese
are stately, ancient lions, residing in tiny, perfectly manicured little
bodies. They are living works of art, that require your utmost devotion,
unceasing attention to detail and care. They blossom when grown in
the warmth of love, like the penjing, or Chinese Bonsai, originally developed
in the Orient almost 2000 years ago. Today the sublime art of bonsai is
practiced throughout the world. Shape-harmony-proportion-scale is all weighed
carefully as art, and the human hand combines this in a common cause with
nature. Because of the similarities of ancient Chinese history, aesthetic
beauty, and diminutive size of the bonsai and the Pekingese, I chose to
name my kennel "Bonsai Pekingese."
We are a
small kennel in the Kansas City area. We show our pekingese, and breed
on a limited basis to attempt to obtain show quality pekingese. Since
not all puppies are born show quality, we occasionally have puppies available
to approved companion homes with spay/neuter contracts. We breed champion
bloodlines for health, temperament as well as beauty, and know the background
of our dogs. We guarantee a healthy, home-raised, beautiful puppy.
We do not sell to pet shops, puppy millers, brokers or back-yard breeders.
Please feel free to contact us in regards to upcoming litters, available
puppies, or to be put on a waiting list for a puppy. We will also
be happy to help put you in touch with other breeders in your area, or
rescue organizations if you are interested in adopting a needy peke.
