Information listed in the below states were compiled from a number of Internet sources that have databases listing reported sightings.  Due to a number of duplications of sighting reports in those various sources, it is somewhat difficult to give credit where credit is due to the originating source.  Therefore, this site acknowledges and gives credit to all the sources of these reports presented to you collectively now, as I cannot determine the origin of each particular sighting report:  National UFO Reporting Center, MUFON, NH MUFON, MA MUFON, VT MUFON, CT MUFON, Miningco.com's UFO/Alien web site, Magonia, Project Bluebook, Filer's Files, National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena, and anyone else who made a report or who I missed !  Plus, we can't forget the people that had the sighting experience and had the courage to come forward and report their incident so the world could know.

Location Date Description
Belmont 2000 October 12     A witness reports that a cigar shaped craft was hovering in the southwestern sky fairly close to the ground. There were lights on it. There was a bright strobe type light emitting from the bottom of the craft onto the forest floor. The witness went into the house to call her son to see it and when they came back it was gone. The witness saw this same craft the week before in the middle of the night and in the same area and it lasted over ten  minutes before it suddenly disappeared from sight. - NUFORC

Bennington

1996 January 15     A man driving through his neighborhood saw a strange light off to his left. He described it as a bright spotlight shining down from the sky. Looking up, he saw a circular disc-shaped object, black in color, with four lights at about 200 feet in diameter.  The UFO made absolutely no sound, he said, adding that he was astounded by its size, low altitude and circular shape.  He pulled over to the road's shoulder and observed the UFO for several minutes. The object finally flew away to the northwest at about 100 miles per hour. - UFO Roundup
Bristol 2000 February 9

A witness reports looking straight up and seeing something moving to the Northeast.  It was a very large triangular blotch of light, but it was hard for the witness to say if it was a fixed shape, more like a luminous cloud with a definite shape.  It was brighter at the edges but stars could be seen faintly through the object, but it did dim the background.  It seemed way up in the sky, and was huge.  The witness continued to watch, using low power binoculars. The witness followed the path of the object to the horizon. The object went from its original shape to a series of four objects in a straight line, two by two.  I have observed the triangular weather satellite formation that occasionally passes overhead, and have always enjoyed looking for satellites. This was not a standard satellite. I certainly do not have any idea what it was. - NUFORC

Burlington

1998 May 20     A person looking out an apartment window saw what appeared to be 2 bright lights like an aircraft's, but were steady and had no noise.  After approx. 10 seconds from initial sighting, the 2 lights began to converge, left light moving toward the right light. The 2 were very close together and began to head in a northerly direction, left to right. During the last 5 seconds of the sighting, the lights became smaller and smaller, then completely vanished at approx. 20 seconds from initial sighting. - NUFORC

Burlington

1997 December 17     An ex military pilot reported a large object at above 50,000 feet, with an estimated speed around 3,000 kts, had a diamond design with an estimated size of   300 x 300 feet.  He and others could sense air displacement and strange electrical activity. Reports that some TV and radios in the area burnt out during that time.  He asked around the local Air Guard Unit, and staff reported they had calls all that day, but say it was a fireball. - NUFORC

Colchester

1997 December 17     Witnesses reported seeing a bright green light pass over head going to the northeast. It had no sound.  The object was big and very fast.  It left no smoke trail. It was a strange looking black thing with a green glow: that was very high and fast that came out of the southwest.  It was changing speed and jumping all over the place. They had their radio and car running and both acted up for about ten seconds.  The radio went dead and the car stalled. - NUFORC

Georgia

1992 June 1     A man and his wife reported arriving home late one evening,  getting out of their car and looking up in the sky and seeing a bunch of bright lights. The man reported that the lights didn't seem to be very far away, and there appeared to be about fifty bright lights which didn't have any noise from them. They got scared and went in the house. When they looked out the window about a minute later and the lights were gone. - NUFORC
Goshen 2000 September 14

Two witnesses report looking to the north east and seeing a fire ball appear in the sky. The thing was way off in the distance and was  visible only for a short time. It appeared to have two distinct streams of fire or vapor around the back end. - NUFORC

Hardwick

1997 March 17     A scanner radio listener reported turning on his scanner and picking up transmissions between Air Traffic Controllers and a number of  jetliner pilots. The pilots were talking to the Controllers in Albany, NY and Burlington, VT. One pilot radioed a bright light approached them, went vertical and dropped into the horizon.   The pilot asked both Controllers to confirm his position, and they did.  The jetliner was 30 miles east of Burlington or 150 miles northeast of Albany. That put the UFO over the forest area just south of Hardwick, Vermont.  The pilots discussed the sighting with the towers, describing the UFO as having fire coming out of the back and left, and made a contrail.  Some pilots indicated they were willing to make a report with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) center in Nashua, NH. - UFO Roundup
Hinesburg 1999 November 8

A witness reports hearing a sound that sounded like an aircraft engine. The house began to vibrate slightly and the dog began to bark as the witness went outside and noticed that the sound was not proceeding over the house as a plane would. The sound continued to drone on for approx 2 minutes, there were coyotes howling in the woods behind the house in the direction of the sound. Due North.  The sound abruptly stopped and the witness went inside and the daughter came down stairs. She also heard the sound and after it stopped she claims to have seen a flash of light across the Western Sky.  Approx 15-20 minutes later they again heard the same engine noise in the woods North of the house where there are 4 acres of woods and a secluded farm field. They did not see any craft or ship of any kind. The only sighting was the flash. The best description of the sound would be that of a aircraft engine. - NUFORC

Jericho 1999 August 10

A witness reports video taping an object as it danced about the sky.  Blue, green, and red lights were seen. At one point a second object is seen to circle the light and move off but remaining in view. It lasted for about one minute. - NUFORC

Lyndonville 1998 August 27 thru September 19    A family reports multiple sightings of a dark triangular shaped object in the early evening skies at roughly the same time frame of each sighting.  ( due to the regularity of the sightings, it is most likely to be some kind of commercial or military aircraft) - VT MUFON
Marshfield 2000 July 23

Witnesses were reported to have seen a bright light going up and down in a field off Rt. 2 near an Inn around 1:30 am. One witness was driving and says she never saw anything like it. It suddenly completely surrounded her car. - NUFORC

Newport 1998 January 11     Witnesses reported seeing lights that changed back and forth from flashing red and white lights to a horizontal row of white lights.  The unknown object appeared wide and was traveling low and made no sounds - VT MUFON
South Royalton 1999 June 24

A witness reports seeing a circular object just appear and stay there flashing colors for sometime.  Then something came off it and disappeared.  After sometime it came back to the bigger half and just shot off again. This happened for a week then it just stopped.  It was round like a ball, flashing all colors and it was BIG.  It also had a small counter part that would leave it. It would come back after sometime and would leave as fast as it came. - NUFORC

Waitesfield

1977 June 29     Reports seen from a large open field, two fuzzy glowing orange lights, aligned horizontally, about 45 degrees from the horizon, grew gradually larger and brighter, and merged into a single enormous trapezoid shape, at least 15-20 times the size of a full moon.  It remained a fuzzy-edged bright orange light and had no sound. The light gradually shrank and disappeared. About 10-15 minutes later, there was just a faint glow in the sky. One of the witnesses said he never seen or heard of anything like this. - NUFORC
