The San Franciscan
The San Franciscan caught my eye many times before I finally brought it home for construction. As the walls began to go up, I began to wonder what I was going to do with all these doll houses. Buy a bigger house? Stop building them? Space was limited and the small space allotted for doll houses was filling up fast.
Time passed. The San Franciscan was fully constructed and painted and decorating the inside was almost complete. My tiny granddaughter, Ashton, (three years old at the time) was watching intently and suddenly pointed at the San Franciscan and said very matter-of-factly, "That's mine!" I laughed, kissed her sweet face and said, "Not until you're taller." And that's how the problem of what to do with all the doll houses was solved. Each granddaughter would have one. Ashton, of course, has the San Franciscan.
