The Slaters
After fleeing the square, the di Marco's have left a gap for a new family. Nothing much has been given away except a skip arriving outside No 23.
Other news
August saw Rosa, Gianni, Nicky and Teresa leaving the square after Nicky's assault by her maths tutor came to light.
Irene, Terry, Frank, Peggy, Roy and Pat went to Spain where Frank slept with Pat and Irene did a flit Shirley Valentine style.

Also, Mel tried to make Steve jealous by dating Billy, while Dot tried to come to terms with Ethel's cancer.
That Was September 2000

The Slaters arrive in the Square on the day of Ethel's funeral.
Mo and Pat renew their old vendetta. Lynne starts working in the Cafe.
Zoe steals her dads Taxi keys and crashes into Marks stall. She spends a day working for Mark as repayment.
Garry continues to flirt with Kat, Mel and Laura, who kisses him whilst drunk.
The girls do a number at the Vic's karaoke night.

Dot helped Ethel die after her 86th birthday and was finding it hard to cope.
After the police wouldn't charge her, she started shoplifting.
Jack tried to convince Sandra to leave Beppe and go away with him.
Ian's financial problems got worse and so did the way he treated Laura

The Slater family grieved once more on the first anniversary of Viv Slater's death.

They also came to Sonia's aid when she gave birth
Mo had been handling stolen property and got herself arrested. She also found out about Frank and Pat's affair and had an argument with her in the street
Lynne has been finding it hard working with Janine at the cafe. She also tried to fix Charlie up with Pauline which backfired.
Kat had men problems as Robbie was fawning after her and Kevin chained himself to the gate. She flirted with Steve and tried to seduce him. Even though she failed, she still used it to wind Mel up.
Maureen started a job working at the Vic as a cleaner.
Zoe started a job on Mark's stall and has been managing it whilst he has been away

Dot helped Ethel to die and found life difficult. She went and confessed to the police and, because they wouldn't press charges, she started stealing things to get herself arrested.
Frank and Pat continued their affair. They attempted to leave but Pat chickened out at the last moment.
Beppe found out about Sandra's affair with Jack and she walked out. They are now starting a custody fight for Joe.
Sonia gave birth to a baby girl, even though she didn't know she was pregnant.
Ian's finances continued to crumble.
Janine used her similarity to Tiffany to get money out of Terry.

Mark found that his HIV drug combination was working and celebrated by going away, with a renewed vigor for life.

Maureen started her job as a cleaner at the Vic and soon grabs the attention of Billy, who is now trying to impress her. Mo bought a stolen cot for Sonia's baby and lost her knickers. Charlie set up a brewery in the airing cupboard with Jim, and when they checked it, they found Mo's knickers
Zoe got help with her maths on Mark's stall from Eddie Skinner, who turned out to be Kerry's dad. . Zoe and Kerry tried babysitting for Beppe, but things went wrong and Sandra found out. Zoe also admitted that she was still a virgin.
Garry tried it on with Kat, who kneed him in the groin. When Lynne found out, Garry told her that Kat had tried it on with him. Lynne and Kat fell out over this and Kat admitted to doing it for the sake of her sister. When Kat turned to Steve, he shunned her as he was only interested in making Mel jealous.
Other news.
Frank and Pats affair was brought to light and Frank went off leaving Pat to face everyone. Pat tried living with Ian but had to move out, into the old B & B she used to run.
Ian's finances crumbled around him and was declared bankrupt after Phil wouldn't lend him the money.

Sonia had baby Chloe adopted
Roy bought Barry his own taxi service, as part of a new life without Pat and Frank.
Nick returned to the Square with Ashley in tow and are acting well behaved so they can stay with the Fowlers. Nick recognised Eddie as an ex-con.
That was December 2000

Zoe nearly loses her job after she has an argument with a customer on the stall. Kerry convinces her to go on holiday together.
Garry moves in with Mark and poses for the Queen Vic Calendar, much to Lynne's annoyance.
Billy and Little Mo get closer and she is assaulted by her husband Trevor. She first tries to cover it up but the family find out and what revenge. Billy gets a friend of his to beat Trevor up, but Maureen still returns to him. Maureen leaves him on Christmas day, but returns to him again on Boxing Day, where she gets beaten again.
Over Christmas, Mo tries to sell some dodgy christmas decorations and ven dresses up in Robbie's work clothes to trick the competition.
Lynne is annoyed that Garry invited Janine for Christmas, and had bought her some hideous ear-rings, which Janine had fiendishly said she had loved!
Other news.
Nick Cotton stole 1500 from the stall and hid it in Pauline's house Pauline found it and returned it to Eddie.
Nick also tried to blackmail Eddie, but he confessed to Pauline about being an ex-con.
Dot Cotton was jailed for 14 days.
Sonia told Jamie that Martin was the father of the baby and Jamie hit him. Martin denied it to Pauline so she hit Sonia!
Beppe tried to sell his share in the E20 to Steve, but Phil muscled in with a better offer. Phil also got closer to Mel which made Steve and Lisa jealous. Steve assaulted Phil in the Vic and Lisa started to drink heavily.
On Christmas Day, Phil slept with Mel.

Also, Peggy broke down and smashed the Vic up with a baseball bat!
Martin started taking drugs, given to him by Nick
That Was January 2000

Zoe and Kerry plan to go to Tenerife for their holiday, but Zoe needs a passport and hasn't got her birth certificate. Charlie agrees to sort out the details for her.
The family decide that Kat should find a job and set up several interviews for her, all of which she sabotages so that she doesn't have to work. As a consequence, she becomes the Slater family Skivvy.

Kat was introduced to the new doctor, Tony and started flirting with him.
Lynne pushes Janine around at the cafe which makes her quit, leaving Lynne alone. She eventually offers Kerry a job there.
Maureen disappeared after Christmas and claimed she was in Clacton. When Kat and Lynne found her, it was obvious she had suffered more abuse. Maureen told them to keep their noses out.
Garry had two one night stands, one of whom was nearly caught by Lynne and Charlie became suspicious when he gave her a taxi ride home. Garry also started moonlighting for Barry's taxi firm, without Phil knowing.
The Feud between Charlie and Barry started to escalate.

After Mark found out that Nick had been giving drugs to Martin, he spiked Nick's drink. They then climbed onto the railway bridge and Nick fell off. Nick is now confined to a wheelchair and has sworn revenge on Mark.
Mark was questioned about the incident but Mick backed up his story.
Ashley heard some rumours about his dad and decided to live with his mum instead.

Phil told Mel that he loved her and continued to make Lisa's life a misery.
Pauline found out that Martin was the father of baby Chloe and decided she wanted custody. Sonia found the only was to stop her was to fight for custody herself. Martin bravely told Pauline that he wasn't ready and she backed out of the court case.
Janine started working with Terry and made a big impact on her clients.
Ian and Laura re-opened the chip shop.

Zoe turned seventeen and, at her party, managed to get Jamie drunk and snog him!

Unfortunately for her, Jamie preferred to be with Sonia. She then went on holiday to Tenerife with Kerry and when she returned, she was grounded for lying and sneaking off without adult supervision.
Kat started to worry about growing old and at Zoe's party, we find out that Kat is actually Zoe's mother. She also continued her secret affair with Doctor Trueman, but were sprung one night when he tried to leave the Slaters house and got caught by the family. Mo was very unhappy about the arrangement and goes to tell Audrey immediately. Kat also started her jod working behind the bar at the Vic.
Garry got punched by Terry for flirting with Janine, forgot to buy Lynne a valentines card and stole Jamie's to give her. Janine also paid him to give her and Zoe, driving lessons, which ended in disaster.
Other news.
Lisa left Phil when Mel told her that they slept together, and went to live with Mark. Lisa also found out she was pregnant, but doesn't want anyone to know. Phil threatened to tell Steve about it on their wedding day, but Steve became suspicious and found out by listening to a phone call.
Nick Cotton left the square to get some physiotherapy treatment
Peggy made a fool of herself on valentines night when she made a play for Roy, but Roy is still in love with Pat. Pat returned to the square only to say she was heading off to New Zealand. Barry tried to keep it secret but Natalie told Roy and he chased after her and won her over in the middle of the road.

Terry left the square to be with his sick father, leaving Janine at home alone with a wad of cash. Janine then spent the money trying to buy friends.

That Was March 2001

Zoe and Kerry had surprise visitors this month as the two lads they met on holiday in Tenerife, Darren and Luke, came looking for them. Zoe wasn't interested in continuing a relationship with Luke and Darren caused a stir when we found out he was engaged to Kerry as well as Robbie. Zoe also brought home a stray dog named Tinkerbell, but had a lot of trouble finding someone to look after her.
Kat continued working behind the bar and dating Anthony. To put off her relationship, Big Mo and Audrey invited the pair for tea, but neither plan worked.

To get some privacy, Kat and Tony spent the night at The Vic whilst Peggy was away and got caught the next day. Peggy sacked Kat but reinstated her when she found out that Jim had left the back door open and not her.
Tony got cold feet and tried to cool of the relationship with Kat, but regretted and, to win her back, hired a White Limo, to take her out.
Charlie drove Steve and Mel to their honeymoon destination, but had to tell the police that Steve disappeared for five minutes at the same time Phil got shot.
Other news.
Steve Owen married Mel Healy and on that day, Phil Mitchell got shot. Beppe was the first on the scene, followed by Mark. As Phil recovered in hospital , he told the police that he didn't know who shot him. He left Jamie in charge of his businesses. Jamie tried hard to be a hard-man, but got beaten up by Dan Sullivan who returned to demand money with menaces. When Steve arrived back from his honeymoon, he was arrested for murder and later released without charge.
Billy started to blackmail Ian about something related to the murder.
Beppe's son Joe was run over whilst he and Sandra were arguing. In the hospital, Sandra agreed to drop the custody case.
Dot's flat was broken into, so she went to live with the Jacksons.
That Was April 2001

Kat got hassled by a punter in the pub and decided to set the fire extinguisher on him.

Peggy
promoted Barry to ber manager, and his first job was to sack Kat. When Kat told
Anthony of this, she thought he would hit the roof, instead he told her he loved
her. This scared her and she broke off the relationship. She started seeing
other men, including Anthony's brother Paul.
Little Mo went back home to her husband to the despair of her family, but Trevor
was called away back to work. When Little Mo tried to find him, his work place
told her that he had finished there ages ago. Little Mo turned to Billy in
panic, and he found Trevor living with another woman. Little Mo confronted him
then stormed back to her family.
Charlie took Peggy out a couple of times, and Lynne found she was attracted to
Beppe.
Kat and Garry made it onto the darts team.

Phil
remembered who shot him and confronted the culprit - Lisa! He took the gun from
her and framed Dan Sullivan with it. Ian confessed to Laura that he found Phil
and left him to die, and Laura urged him to confess to the police. Barry was
made mangare of the Vic, was fired for incompetency, then reinstated when Peggy
found that Natalie had lost her job. Peggy hired Natalie too who has just found
out she is pregnant.
Peggy got a visit from the tax man who told her that Frank had made fraudulant
claims and she was responsible as licencee. Peggy decided she had to seel the
Vic.
Laura was left a lot of money in a will and Ian proposed to her.
Janine stole Irene's bank card and started withdrawing money from the account.
Terry thought Irene had returned until Jim showed him that Janine was stealing
from him.
That Was May 2001

Charlie started getting close to Peggy. Harry Slater arrived on Charlie's 60th birthday and started dating Peggy, which made Charlie jealous.
Trevor tried to win Little Mo back but she stood up to him and demanded a divorce.
On a trip to Brighton, Zoe lost her virginity to Jamie, but after the incident, he claimed he just wanted to be friends.
Garry met up with an old flame who turned him down. Lynne decided once and for all to dump Garry but he proposed to her so as not to lose her. We also found out about Lynne's previous engagement to Jason.
Kat got caught up in a three-some but refused to get involved. As revenge, she and Zoe trashed the place, leaving a calling card.

Ian and Laura get married after Ian rips up a cheque to prove he wasn't interested in money.
Robbie tracks down his dad in Portsmouth but is not impressed when he finds out that his reason for leaving was just an excuse.
Peggy sold the Vic and was shocked that the new owner was Sharon Watts.
Barry and Natalie moved in with Pat and Roy, and Barry got a job as a Chicken.
Lisa and Mark decide to pass Phil's baby off as there own.
Terry started using a dating agency and one of his dated was Pauline.
Nick Cotton returned.

Big Mo notices that Garry is avoiding wedding arrangements and orders him to settle down or ship out. Garry then sets a wedding date for August. Charlie is blown out again by Peggy who jets off to Minorca to be with Harry. Zoe tells Sonia that she slept with Jamie, but She doesn't believe her and Jamie denies it, saying that Zoe is just fantasising. Kat sticks up for her and warns Jamie not to mess with her little sister.

Little Mo goes into the cleaning business with Billy. Trevor returns to the square and they start divorce proceedings, but she is falling for him again.
Other news
Nick Cotton was out for revenge on Mark so he tampered with his motorbike. Unfortunately, Ashley stole the bike and crashed it, which killed him. Dot was so devastated that she went mad and was sent to a special home.
Sharon got rid of Ross and started seeing more of Phil. Steve and Mel were getting bored with each other after their wedding.
Mark and Lisa agreed to pass the baby off as his, but Pauline found out the truth.
Jamie was still confused over whether he wants Sonia or Zoe.
Terry gets himself set up with a new date, making Janine jealous.
That Was July 2001

Trevor got a job at the Vic, much to Big Mo's disgust, and also started going to anger management classes. Little Mo was so impressed with his apparent change of character that she decided to give him a second chance and left No 23 to be with him.

Big Mo started working with Paul Trueman- she supplies the goods- he sells them. Lynne makes wedding plans and finds a vicar and church for the service, unfortunately, a storm blows the church roof off! Garry is not happy about getting married and tries everything he can dissuade the vicar. He also tries it on with Janine.
Zoe is still pining over Jamie, so Kat takes her out for an evening where they pull a couple of men. They also set up a lucky dip stall at Sharon's street party to make money, but they are forced to donate their earnings to charity.
Zoe also offered to look after Lucy's gerbils, but they escaped and the family had to rip the skirting boards off the walls to find them - just as the vicar was coming round for tea.
Other news
Sharon held a street party to make her presence felt in the square. Dan Sullivan's trial started and Phil told Sharon that Lisa shot him. Natalie decided to have a termination but Barry convinced her not to do it.
Steve went to visit his mother, shortly afterwards she died.
Peggy thumped Ian when she found out he left Phil for dead.
Lisa confronts Phil and decides that it is Mark she loves.
Janine and Margaret were both fighting for Terry's attention.
Robbie left the square for a trip to see the world!
