Massachusetts COPS Ride for KIDS 2003 benefit bike ride
Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS) is a national, charitable corporation established to provide support services for the surviving family members and co-workers of law enforcement officers who have been killed in the line of duty. The Massachusetts chapter provides services to survivors from Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Rhode Island.
COPS also runs a very active program called COPS KIDS for the surviving children of these officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice. We run an annual picnic, an annual ski weekend and an annual Christmas party where the survivors can gather and provide support to each other. Our COPS KIDS programs have been enormously successful in helping these children who have usually lost a law enforcement parent in sudden and violent circumstances to cope with their loss and return some sense of normalcy to their lives.
We are currently in the process of organizing a fundraising bicycle ride from the State House in Boston to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, DC. Law enforcement officers from all over the state will participate in the ride which will take place during National Police Week in May. All proceeds go to support the Masschusetts Chapter of COPS for Kids.
Donations can be mailed to "COPS RIDE FOR KIDS" c/o Citizen's Bank, One Center Plaza, Boston, Ma 02114. We are hoping that you can assist us in our efforts to make this ride a success.
