She moved to La Jolla, CA when she retired and was joined by several of her sisters and her parents, her home being a kind of "home base" for the whole family. When her parents passed on in 1916, all of her siblings decided to give her their inheritances. The lawyer, who was asked to draw up this paperwork, laughed at the idea, insisting that no family with that many siblings would ever agree to it.
