For Cris, the Star Wars universe never began, it simply was. Born the same year as the original trilogy, she grew up knowing and loving the galaxy far, far away. An avid reader from a very early age, she was therefore thrilled when the original book trilogy was published, continuing the story of the noble Rebellion, now a fledgling Republic, and its fight against the evil Empire. Little did she know she would one day contribute to telling some of that story herself. Cris's interests mostly stayed with the main characters of the Star Wars universe, until she finished the X-Wing series in the spring of 2001. Curiosity led to an internet search, the search led to sites such as the now defunct and sadly missed Rebelpilots.com and others, and finally to the newsgroup alt.fan.wedge and the IRC channel #pilotchat on Holonet. From then on, she was solidly hooked. Fascinated by the creativity and writings of her new group of friends and acquaintances, she was soon infected by the same sense of creativity, writing first the Rogue-inspired poem Loss and then the short story Fortuna. Since then, she has written other Rogue-based poems and contributed to several short "Insanity" stories, as well as some non-Star Wars poetry. When ideas strike and as real life permits, she hopes to write more serious works in the future. |
