MargotI found Reuben Bumpus and I think Frederick Bumpus in the 1800 census. Look for Frederick in the smudged area just above the horizontal line and Reuben 7 lines above that. A problem is Fredericks indicated age of over 44, older than Reuben. It clearly shows Reuben with a son under 10 years old. and Frederick with 1 under 10 and 1 between 11 and 15. This clearly shows a history of Bradford Co., PA. stating Reuben Bumpus had no children is wrong and the census of 1810 showing he did was right. This confirms my suspicion that this Reuben could have been the father of our Reuben b. 1800, NY. I will have to try harder to find birth records.
