Mrs. Harriet Clark Spinning, 74, wife of Seymour Spinning, veteran Rome lawyer, died at 6:15 o'clock this morning in her home, 312 Expense St. Death was attributed to a heart condition caused by a fall down stairs Oct. 8.
Born Aug. 31, 1867, in the town of Annsville, she was a daughter of Charles and Mary Armstrong Clark. She was educated in Ives Seminary, Antwerp, and Cortland Normal School.
For a number of years before her marriage on July 16, 1906, to Mr. Spinning, she taught school in Rome and the surrounding area. The marriage took place in her home.
Mrs. Spinning attended the First Methodist Church and was a member of Holly Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Jennie I. Loveland, Rome: a stepson, Ralph Spinning, Hamburg, and several nieces and nephews.
